DescriptionAsymmetrical Flow Field-Flow fractionation (AsFlFFF) and Hollow Fiber Flow Field-Flow fractionation (HF FlFFF) technologies are flow based separation techniques, classified in the broad category of chromatography techniques. Separation takes place in a channel with no stationary phase, solely by a flow where a perpendicular flow force is applied. Absence of stationary phase leads to less shear stress and less molecule adsorption, which enables the analysis of molecules and particles from 1 nm up to 50 µm. AsFlFFF and HF FlFFF, coupled with static and dynamic light scattering detector (Mals), are used for the comprehension and control of technological and sanitary quality of agricultural raw materials and food products.
