How does it work?

|Working principle|| Intelligent packaging systems in food processing include the application of different indicators which are able to monitor the state and quality of the product. The indicators monitoring the gas composition of modified atmosphere in the packages of food products can facilitate the visual differentiation of quality and spoiled products [1,3,4,5].
Working principle of the indicators monitoring the gas composition in sealed food package is based on chemical reaction of the indicator component with a particular gas (oxygen, water vapour, ethylene, etc.) The response is visually apparent through the transparent package. Recently the application of gas indicators based on nanomaterials has been described [6,7].

The consumers demand fresh products have under their control. There is contradictory demand to retailers interests.
